Meet Khabraal

Khabraal is a Brazilian-born artist and designer living and working in Los Angeles. Educated at VCAD in Vancouver, his practice merges design sensibilities with a disciplined approach to printmaking.

He specializes in reverse monotype painting on gel plates, employing only transparent pigments and refined acrylic glazing techniques. This process produces a distinctive luminosity and tonal depth, giving each work a sense of quiet atmosphere and natural radiance.

Drawing from his background in design, Khabraal’s compositions emphasize balance, intimacy, and an intentional restraint. The works are hand-built through layered decisions, resulting in images that are one-of-a-kind and technically specific to his process.

His studio practice centers on craftsmanship, material sensitivity, and a continued exploration of how printed surfaces can hold light, emotion, and presence.
